Wigan Athletic's Owen Coyle bemoans frustrating defeat to Blackpool

Wigan Athletic manager Owen Coyle says that he is frustrated by today's defeat to Blackpool in the Championship.

Wigan Athletic manager Owen Coyle has admitted that he is frustrated by his team's defeat to Blackpool this afternoon.

The visitors suffered a narrow 1-0 loss in their Championship clash at Bloomfield Road, but Coyle is adamant that his side deserved better.

"It was a disappointing afternoon in terms of the result," he told the club's official website.

"We came here with the intention of collecting three points and continuing the good run of form we've been on lately, but it didn't happen, we'll take our medicine and look to bounce back quickly.

"The overriding feeling is one of frustration, because we should be leaving here with points rather than empty handed and I've told that to the players."

Wigan are currently 12th in the Championship table after today's result.
