Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has revealed that the knee injury suffered by Hugo Rodallega is "not as bad" as first feared.
The striker was stretchered off with a knee complaint towards the end of Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Everton.
At the time Martinez suggested that the Colombian could be out of action for a lengthy period of time, but a scan has now advised otherwise.
"The scans came back really positively," Martinez told the club's official website. "It doesn't seem like there are any big concern in terms of the structure of the knee.
"We won't know how long he's exactly going to be but what's clear is that the injury is not as bad as we thought.
"It's fantastic news and now we're going to make sure that Hugo recovers well and gets back on the football pitch as quickly as possible."
Rodallega has not found the net in five Premier League appearances this season.
