Preview: Wigan Athletic vs. Burnley

Sports Mole previews Sunday's Championship match between Wigan Athletic and Burnley.

Burnley can possibly regain top spot in the Championship for the start of 2014 if they beat Wigan Athletic away from home tomorrow.

The Clarets surrendered the summit to Leicester City by losing on Boxing Day at Middlesbrough.

Manager Sean Dyche could welcome back Ben Mee at left-back after he missed the trip to the Riverside Stadium.

Dyche's opposite number Uwe Rosler has overseen an unbeaten league run of three games since taking charge at Wigan, with Thursday's goalless draw at home to Birmingham City the first time he has lost points in the Championship.

Nick Powell and Ben Watson sat out altogether against the Blues, but are likely to return against Burnley as the Latics look to move into the top half of the table.

Rosler will be without Jean Beausejour, who is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Birmingham.

These two sides last met in Burnley's 2009-10 stint in the Premier League. That year Wigan won both matches as Hugo Rodallega's three goals over the two games proved crucial.
