Gary Caldwell: 'We can survive'

Wigan Athletic defender Gary Caldwell claims that the club are finally getting the results their performances have deserved.

Wigan Athletic defender Gary Caldwell has claimed that the club are finally getting the results their performances have deserved.

The Latics claimed a 2-1 win over Arsenal on Monday to move into 16th spot in the Premier League, five points clear of the relegation zone, and Caldwell believes that the club can survive.

"For a number of weeks now we've been playing well and getting reward for that. At the start of the season we had a difficult time and we had to stick together and really stay strong as a group. We've done that and we've come out stronger," the 30-year-old told Sky Sports News.

"There's a long way to go and it's still going to be a big battle down at the bottom. We've given ourselves a chance but we've got to regroup and go again."

Caldwell has made 32 appearances for the club this season.
