Wigan Athletic striker Arouna Kone claims that he wants to stay at the club even if they get relegated from the Premier League.

Wigan Athletic striker Arouna Kone has claimed that he wants to stay at the club even if they get relegated from the Premier League this season.

The Latics are currently three points from safety with five games remaining in the campaign.

Despite the team's woes at the wrong end of the table, Kone is eager to spend his future at the DW Stadium.

"My present — and future — is with Wigan," the Ivory Coast international told The Sun. "Now I'm only thinking about staying in the Premier League and am convinced we can do it."

Wigan continue their fight for survival on Saturday when they host Tottenham Hotspur.
