David Edwards eyes senior role at Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder David Edwards reveals that he enjoys being one of the more experienced members of the first-team squad at Molineux.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder David Edwards has admitted that he relishes being one of the more experienced members of Kenny Jackett's squad.

Edwards starred for Wolves during the last campaign as they eased to the League One title, and after signing a new two-year contract with the club, the Welsh international hopes that he can take on extra responsibility within the first-team squad.

The 28-year-old is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "We have got a young squad and I'm enjoying being one of the more experienced players who hopefully some of the younger lads will look up to."

Edwards scored nine times in 31 appearances last season.
