Sheffield United have reportedly rejected an offer from Wolverhampton Wanderers for their centre-back Harry Maguire.
It is believed that the 21-year-old, who was named United's Player and Young Player of the Year by supporters last season, is Kenny Jackett's number one transfer target.
Although newly-promoted Wolves failed with their first approach, they will return with an improved bid soon, according to the Express & Star.
The report added that Blades manager Nigel Clough is keen to keep hold of the defender, who has risen through the ranks at Bramall Lane.
Also, Wolves are thought to be close to securing the services of Peterborough United's Tommy Rowe.
