Kenny Jackett hints at Aaron McCarey starting role

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett reveals that he doesn't intend on handing goalkeeper Carl Ikeme an immediate recall to the first team after injury.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has hinted that goalkeeper Aaron McCarey will retain his place in the starting lineup for the game against Notts County.

Carl Ikeme is available again after injury, but after impressing as the Nigerian's replacement, McCarey looks likely to get the nod from Jackett.

The 52-year-old told the Express & Star: "There's no need to change for the sake of it, but I'm pleased to have Carl available with this busy period coming up.

"I view Aaron as a senior keeper, so to have two senior keepers available is good. It would be very hard to drop Aaron because he's done very well."

Wolves have won four of the five matches that McCarey has started for them during the current campaign.
