Wolverhampton Wanderers kept the pressure on Brentford at the top of League One by cruising to a 2-0 win over Notts County at Molineux this afternoon.

Two goals from Michael Jacobs helped Wolves to the three points, which sees them stay within two points of the Bees at the summit of the standings.

The 22-year-old opened the scoring on 16 minutes with a diving header to convert Scott Golbourne's cross.

Celtic loanee Callum McGregor curled narrowly past the post for Shaun Derry's men shortly after, before Jacobs doubled the advantage early in the second half, securing his brace from 25 yards via the post.

County should have reduced the arrears through Jack Grealish in the closing stages, but the Aston Villa loanee could only head over the bar as Kenny Jackett's troops held out for the clean sheet.

Wolves take on Brentford at Griffin Park next weekend.
