McCarthy: Fulham game is 'tipping point'

Mick McCarthy discusses Wolves's "big game" with Fulham this weekend.

Mick McCarthy has described Wolves's upcoming fixture with Fulham as a "big game" in the team's fight for Premiership survival.

The Midlands club are currently bottom of the League but have a game in hand and are just two points away from the safety line.

The Cottagers, currently 12th place, travel to Molineux on Saturday. “It could be a tipping point, but the players have always responded when it’s been a kind of ‘must-win’ game,” McCarthy told the Express & Star. “They’ve always done it."

Wolves have lost their last two games, suffering defeats at Newcastle and at home to Everton, but have managed victories against Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd this season.

“There’s no better time for a special effort to come than the Fulham game," McCarthy added. "The two defeats don’t change a season, but it’s a big game.”
