Stephen Ward has put pen to paper on a new three-and-a-half-year deal at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 26-year-old, who moved to Molineux four years ago, will remain at the Premier League club until 2015.
"I'm happy to have signed the new contract and am looking forward to helping Wolves move up the Premier League table," Ward told the club's official website.
Manager Mick McCarthy thinks that the Republic of Ireland international has "earned" a new contract.
"We're all delighted that Wardy has extended his contract," McCarthy added. "He has earned a new deal by the manner of his performances.
"Since arriving from Bohemians, he has just got better and better and is a top professional who never stops working."
The versatile player has featured in defence, attack and midfield during his Wolves career.
