Wolverhampton Wanderers owner Steve Morgan apologises for referee rant

Wolverhampton Wanderers owner Steve Morgan says that he has apologised to referee Mike Jones for his post-match rant after the defeat to Bournemouth.

Wolverhampton Wanderers owner Steve Morgan has revealed that he has apologised to referee Mike Jones for his post-match rant after Saturday's home defeat to Bournemouth.

Morgan confronted the official, who had sent off two Wolves players, as the two sides left the pitch following the Cherries' 2-1 win at Molineux.

While Wolves will appeal the two dismissals, Morgan has admitted that he was in the wrong.

"I would like to apologise personally to Mike Jones," he said in a statement.

"I was extremely angry and frustrated at many of his refereeing decisions, and I still am. However, I should not have gone pitch side to vent my frustrations."

Wolves are 13th in the Championship table following the defeat.
