The 19-year-old is a regular in Wolves' Under-23s squad but has yet to make his debut for the senior side, having joined from Bury last summer.
Ruddy is currently on international duty with the Scotland Under-21s side, ruling him out of this weekend's home clash with Charlton Athletic, but he is expected to be available for the trip to Fleetwood Town a week later.
The Rangers academy graduate will wear the number one jersey and challenge Johny Placide, who also arrived at the club today, and Cardiff City loanee Ben Wilson for a place in the starting XI.
John Sheridan's side have made the worst possible start to the new League One season, losing all four of their opening games to sit one place from bottom in the primitive league table.
