Australia rout Sri Lanka in sevens opener

Cameron Clark scores a hat-trick as Australia rout Sri Lanka in their rugby sevens opener at the Commonwealth Games.

Cameron Clark bagged 27 points as Australia opened their rugby sevens campaign at the Commonwealth Games with a convincing 62-7 win over Sri Lanka at Ibrox.

Three tries and six conversions from Clark helped down the South Asians, who did get a standing ovation after scoring a try of their own to make it 55-7.

Jesse Parahi, Tom Lucas, Con Foley, Greg Jeloudev and Pama Fou also bagged tries in the rout of the minnows.

Australia also face England and Uganda in Pool D ahead of tomorrow's finals.
