Scotland lock Richie Gray has warned British and Irish Lions teammate Leigh Halfpenny that he could lose his place in the side to compatriot Stuart Hogg.
Many believe that the Welshman, who was named as the Six Nations player of the tournament earlier this year, will be the man to occupy the scrum-half position for the Lions' tour of Australia in the summer.
However, Gray thinks that Halfpenny isn't guaranteed his starting position with Hogg waiting in the wings.
"[Hogg]'s come on leaps and bounds, but I think everybody in Scotland knew his potential," said Gray.
"He's a quality player. He's got bags and bags of pace and he's in great form at the moment."
The Lions face Barbarians in the first tour match on June 1.
