Stuart Lancaster: 'Danny Care has England future'

England's interim coach Stuart Lancaster claims that Danny Care could still have an international future.

Stuart Lancaster has revealed that Danny Care could still have a future with England, despite his third arrest in as many months.

Care was cautioned by police after he was caught urinating against the Queens Hotel in Leeds during the early hours of Sunday morning.

Lancaster banned scrum-half Care from his Six Nations squad after he pleaded guilty to drink-driving in December.

However, the interim coach believes that Care could once again pull on an England shirt.

"It is another unfortunate incident that could and should have been avoided. I'll be meeting him as soon as possible about the decisions he's making and how it's affecting his chances of coming back and playing for England," said Lancaster. "I don't think he's got a long-term problem. I want to sit down with him like Conor (O'Shea, Harlequins director of rugby) to make sure he makes better decisions in the future.

"Long term I think he's got a future [with England] but short term obviously we made the decision he would not take part in the Six Nations and nothing has changed."

Care has made 32 appearances for England.
