The Rugby Football Union has revealed that it will not rule on the outcome of former England captain Mike Tindall's appeal today.

The Gloucester centre was fined £25,000 and dropped from the England squad for his conduct on a night out during the World Cup campaign in New Zealand.

The player later apologised for misleading the management having initially claimed that he did not visit another bar later in the evening.

The Rugby Players' Association described Tindall's fine as "extraordinary" and "unprecedented".

The appeal will be heard by the RFU's acting chief executive Martyn Thomas at a secret location in the south west of England.
