New Zealand issue two-match ban to Aaron Cruden for 'late-night drinking'

New Zealand suspend fly-half Aaron Cruden for two matches after he missed the team's flight to Argentina following a late night of drinking.

New Zealand have issued fly-half Aaron Cruden with a two-match suspension after a late night of drinking resulted in him missing the team's flight to Argentina.

The 25-year-old is not permitted to play in the All Blacks' final two games of the Rugby Championship in South America and South Africa.

"He went out drinking late in Auckland on Saturday night and didn't make flight to Argentina," BBC Sport quotes coach Steve Hansen as saying. "He is embarrassed at his actions.

"We are extremely disappointed at Aaron's actions, which are out of character."

New Zealand currently have a six-point lead in the Championship following three victories and a draw.
