New Zealand captain Richie McCaw praises his teammates after leading them to World Cup glory against France this morning.

New Zealand captain Richie McCaw praised his teammates after leading his country to World Cup glory.

The All Blacks narrowly beat France 8-7 in the final in Auckland this morning, in what was McCaw's last international match.

"The guys dug as deep as they've ever dug before, I'm just so proud of everyone," said McCaw.

"We couldn't have been under more pressure but we stuck tight and got there in the end."

McCaw gave special praise to Stephen Donald, who came off the bench to kick the winning points for the hosts.

"I take my hat off to 'Beaver' [Stephen Donald] but it is hard to pick out one guy."

McCaw made his Test debut against Ireland in 2001 and has gone on to make 102 appearances for the All Blacks.
