Western Force have completed the signing of Hurricanes scrum-half Chris Eaton on a short-term contact.
The 29-year-old, who had made 27 appearances for his former club, is expected to act as cover for scrum-half Brett Sheehan.
"Former Hurricanes scrum-half Chris Eaton has joined the Emirates Western Force on a short-term contract for the 2013 Super Rugby season," read a statement on the club's official website.
"His contract with the Force will extend until Sheehan is available to resume his place in the playing squad."
Eaton also spent five years with Hawke's Bay.
