Scotland and Bristol flanker Ross Rennie has been forced into retirement at the age of 28 because of injury.
The former Edinburgh forward has not played since October and had been seeking advice from specialists on a neurological problem.
"I feel very privileged to have been a professional rugby player," he said in a statement.
"I feel very fortunate that the sport has given me the opportunity to travel the world, meet new people and represent my country - something that I'm immensely proud of.
"It's been a wonderful experience to represent Bristol - I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here."
Rennie won 20 international caps and represented Scotland at the 2011 World Cup.
He moved to Bristol, for whom he scored seven tries in 13 appearance, from Edinburgh in 2011.
