Scotland will reportedly name a new head coach before Christmas, with Scott Johnson and Sean Lineen understood to be the frontrunners for the appointment.
Andy Robinson left his post with the country when he resigned after they were defeated in all three autumn tests, but according to BBC Sport, a new interim coach is wanted before the end of December.
Scotland dropped to 12th in the world rankings following their three straight defeats, but they return to Six Nations action against England on February 2 at Twickenham.
Attack coach Johnson is understood to be wanted to provide international coaching experience, but Glasgow Warriors head coach Lineen, who featured 29 times for his country, is also in the frame.
