Aaron Jarvis open to playing hooker

Aaron Jarvis claims that he would be comfortable playing as a hooker for Wales at the World Cup.

Wales prop Aaron Jarvis has insisted that he would have no problem filling in as an emergency hooker at the World Cup.

Warren Gatland's decision to select only Scott Baldwin and Ken Owens as hookers in his squad for the competition raised a few questions as Wales look to qualify from Pool A.

However, Jarvis claims that he is ready to take on the responsibility should his side need him to switch positions.

"I've been doing bits and bobs, practising my throwing," Jarvis told reporters.

"Scrummaging-wise, it's not too different to prop, really. It's something I am comfortable with, and I'm happy if it's to come down to it in an emergency situation.

"I've got a lot of help from both hookers. They've been great in showing me different ways of holding the ball. Personally, I think I've improved quite a lot, and I am really enjoying it. It's something different and learning something new."

Wales kick off their campaign against Uruguay on Sunday.
