Andy Murray has backed Dan Evans to impress in Great Britain's Davis Cup semi-final clash with Australia.
Despite currently being the world number 300, Evans edged out competition from the higher-ranked James Ward and Kyle Edmund to secure the second singles spot alongside Murray.
As Great Britain prepare for the opening day of the tie, Murray believes that captain Leon Smith's decision to select the 25-year-old will be vindicated.
"His talent has never been in question and I also think he has the kind of personality which gets up for big matches," the world number three told reporters.
"Obviously, some players can freeze in that situation, but his personality will handle that fine. There will be nerves, but I think he will handle them.
"He has played against Tomic on the tour and has a way of playing which will be tricky for Bernard. But he has to play a high level of tennis."
Evans will take on Bernard Tomic, while Murray faces Thanasi Kokkinakis on Friday.
