Dominika Cibulkova sees off Tamira Paszek in Paris

Ninth seed Dominika Cibulkova defeats Tamira Paszek to make it into the third round of the French Open.

Ninth seed Dominika Cibulkova has beaten Tamira Paszek in straight sets to make it into the third round of the French Open.

The Slovakian opened up a 4-2 lead in the opening set before Paszek broke back, but Cibulkova was able to break again to clinch it 6-3.

The second proved to be another tightly-contested affair, though the 25-year-old eventually came through 6-3 6-4 to progress.

Waiting for Cibulkova in round three will be either former US Open champion Samantha Stosur or Austria's Yvonne Meusburger.
