Rafael Nadal has produced a devastating display to defeat Roger Federer and reach the semi-finals of the BNP Paribas Open.
The Spaniard looked back to his best in recording a 6-4 6-2 victory over his long-time rival, who appeared to be hampered by his troublesome back.
He drew first blood on Federer's serve to take a 4-3 lead in the first, before closing it out for a one-set lead.
The world number five immediately broke the Swiss number one in the second and went on to secure the double break at 3-0.
Federer got one of the breaks back, but surrendered once again as Nadal took a 5-2 lead, which meant that he served for the match.
The 26-year-old made light work of closing out the victory to set up a clash with Tomas Berdych in the last four at Indian Wells.
