Roger Federer targets French Open success after Italian Open run

Roger Federer says that he is confident of upsetting Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal at the French Open.

Roger Federer has insisted that the French Open is not a two-horse race between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.

Nadal is currently in poor form, while Djokovic has never won at Roland Garros, but both remain clear favourites to lift the trophy.

Federer's recent form has been questionable, and he lost to Djokovic in straight sets in the final of the Italian Open yesterday.

However, he told reporters: "I don't want to get myself too down because it was a good tournament for me. I really hope it's not just the two of them. I hope there's going to be some other guys who will be a part of that group and I hope in particular myself."

Federer won the French Open in 2009.
