Novak Djokovic has progressed through to the final of the Italian Open with a straight-sets win over David Ferrer.
The world number one required one hour and 35 minutes to see off his opponent by a 6-4 6-4 scoreline.
Djokovic went into the match having been taken the distance in his three previous matches, but the Serbian appeared in the mood to wrap up victory as fast as possible as he sealed the opening set with one break of serve.
Ferrer held his own in the second as the set progressed to 4-4, but in the ninth game, Djokovic broke to love before serving out the match.
Djokovic will play Roger Federer or Stanislas Wawrinka in Sunday's final.
