Novak Djokovic reaches Monte Carlo final

Novak Djokovic battles back against Tomas Berdych to seal his spot in the final of the Monte Carlo Masters.

World number one Novak Djokovic came back from a one-set deficit against Tomas Berdych to advance through to the final of the Monte Carlo Masters this afternoon.

Djokovic began the semi-final brightly, breaking Berdych's serve before going on to open up a 4-2 advantage.

However, Czech Republic number one Berdych responded by winning the next four games to wrap up the opening set 6-4.

Djokovic again claimed an early break in the second. On this occasion Berdych was unable to respond as the Serb forced the match into a deciding set courtesy of a 6-3 success.

Djokovic claimed the advantage early in the decider by breaking Berdych's serve once again. Another break soon followed as Djokovic went on to open up a 5-1 lead over Berdych.

Despite managing to hold his serve to cut the lead to 5-2, Berdych was unable to prevent his 24-year-old from serving out the match 4-6 6-3 6-2.

Djokovic will now face either defending champion Rafael Nadal or Gilles Simon in tomorrow's final.
