Andy Murray has admitted that talk of him becoming world number one is premature.
The 25-year-old earlier this week became the first Brit to win a Grand Slam title in 76 years, but he is keen to distance himself from reports that he could finish the year as the world number one.
"I think we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves," Murray told Sky Sports News.
"I'll just try to win as much as possible. It take a lot to win, you need to be mentally strong and consistent all year and I have been a bit inconsistent.
"I know how hard it is to win one [Grand Slam] so I'll just keep working hard and see what happens."
Murray beat Novak Djokovic 7-6 7-5 2-6 3-6 6-2 in Monday's final.
