Andy Murray has said that he is heading into Wimbledon with a winning attitude.
The Scot’s confidence was boosted yesterday when he took his second title at the Queen’s Club, beating Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga two sets to one.
Murray, who has reached the Wimbledon semi-finals for two years running but has yet to secure a Grand Slam title, acknowledged that he will have to be at the top of his game to triumph.
“I am going into Wimbledon with the feeling I am going to win,” he said. “You can’t go in with any other attitude.
“I feel I am playing good tennis. I need to work on some things and improve over the next week or so. I will need to play my best tennis throughout the tournament and I will be switched on for the first match.
“I am really looking forward to getting ready for it, because for me it is one of the most important tournaments of the year, if not the most.”
So far this year, the 24-year-old has reached semi-finals at the French Open, and the Monte Carlo and Rome Masters, and lost out to Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open final.
