Michael Laudrup expects Arsene Wenger to stay put at Arsenal

Michael Laudrup is confident that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will remain at the Emirates beyond the summer.

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup believes that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will remain at the helm of the Emirates next season.

Questions over the Frenchman's position at the North London club arose following a number of inconsistent results throughout their campaign.

Wenger, who has been in charge at Arsenal for 17 years, has not led his team to a trophy triumph since 2005, when the Gunners clinched the FA Cup over Manchester United.

"What Arsene Wenger has achieved at Arsenal is great," BBC Sport quotes Laudrup as saying. "If the fans at the club want trophies then of course eight years is a long time.

"But I still think next season we will see Arsene Wenger still on the bench. When someone has been there so long, the good times and the bad times, it's because people are pleased with his job."

Arsenal will take on the Swans at the Liberty Stadium tomorrow.
