Arsenal's Arsene Wenger angry about transfer questions

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger responds angrily to questions about the the club's transfer activity following defeat to Aston Villa.

Arsene Wenger issued an angry response to journalists who questioned his lack of transfer activity following their 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.

Despite taking an early lead through Olivier Giroud, the Gunners were beaten by the Villans at the Emirates Stadium.

Following the game, Wenger was quizzed on why he has been unable to secure more than the solitary signing of Yaya Sanogo, a question to which the Frenchman took exception.

Wenger said: "You (reporters) got what you wanted, you should be happy, before the start of the season that was all you wrote in the papers so what do you expect?

"Everybody has opinions and I have to live with that. I think in 16 years I have shown my loyalty to this club. My only worry is to do well and I am hugely disappointed because we came out of last season without a defeat in 10 games and we start the new season with a defeat at home.

"It's a massive blow and that's why the solution is not to sit here and say we'll buy players to keep you happy."

Arsenal play Turkish side Fenerbahce in a Champions League qualifier on Wednesday.
