Report: Barcelona eye Breel Embolo

Barcelona reportedly enter the race to sign supposed Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur target Breel Embolo, who currently plays for Basel in Switzerland.

Barcelona scouts have reportedly been keeping close tabs on Basel winger Breel Embolo over recent weeks.

It is believed that head coach Luis Enrique is eager to bolster his attacking options during the January transfer window to provide cover for Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

Eighteen-year-old Embolo has been linked with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, but according to Bild, Barca have also been impressed by the youngster's performances.

The report adds that while Celta Vigo's Nolito is Enrique's preferred target, Embolo is a more viable option financially.

The Switzerland international has scored six goals in his 16 appearances this season.
