Diego Simeone wants goals from Antoine Griezmann

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone wants summer signing Antoine Griezmann to hit the goal trail for the Spanish champions, as he did for Real Sociedad last season.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has called on Antoine Griezmann to start finding the back of the net for his new club.

The Frenchman was a regular scorer during his time with Real Sociedad, but has netted just once for Atletico this season after joining the Spanish champions in the summer.

"He played well. He had great pace and was very mobile," Simeone told AS following his side's 2-0 win over Espanyol on Sunday.

"Griezmann went between the lines to give us something different and went close to scoring.

"With the intensity he had today and the way he played the other day, he'll create chances. We need goals from Griezmann and he's working on it."

Tiago and Mario Suarez scored the goals for the home side as they climbed to fourth in the La Liga table.
