Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has said that Thomas Muller "needs a holiday" in order to be ready for the start of the 2016-17 campaign.
Muller enjoyed his best-ever scoring season at Bayern last term, hitting 32 goals in 49 appearances for the German champions, including 20 in 31 matches in the Bundesliga.
The 26-year-old failed to find the back of the net for Germany at Euro 2016, however, and Ancelotti has prescribed the forward a period of rest before the start of the new season.
"I have already spoken with Thomas. He needs a holiday because he has completed many games, but when he comes back, he will be an important part of the team," Ancelotti told reporters.
Muller has netted 152 goals in 353 appearances for Bayern since making his first-team debut in 2008.
