Steve Cotterill has said that he is "delighted" with Bristol City's 2-1 win over Sheffield United in their opening match of the League One season.
Wade Elliott scored the winner for the visitors in the second half in the opening fixture of the new campaign at Bramall Lane.
The manager told the club's website: "We're pleased with the win. It's a really good club here, Sheffield United, and they'll be there or thereabouts, make no mistake about that.
"We needed to control the game and second half that's what we did. There were a few tweaks at half time, things that we'd forgot about after 10-15 minutes. It's hard to get that message back on but we reinforced it at half time and in the second half I felt we looked good.
"We looked very fit, we looked strong and we looked a good footballing team, which delighted me."
The win was the team's first at Bramall Lane in 57 years.
