Danny Ings "so proud" of Burnley teammates

Burnley striker Danny Ings says that he is "so proud" of his teammates after they secured promotion to the Premier League.

Danny Ings has said that he is "so proud" of his teammates after Burnley secured their promotion to the Premier League.

The team's 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic this afternoon leaves them seven points clear of third-placed Derby County with two games still to play, allowing them to confirm their automatic promotion alongside Leicester City.

The striker told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I'm so proud of all the lads. From pre-season to now, they have been absolutely fantastic.

"Sam Vokes has been top class this year, it was a shame he was not out on the pitch today but he deserves it. People did not back us at the start of the season, but it's been great to prove them wrong."

Burnley had been one of the pre-season favourites for relegation with the bookmakers.
