Preview: Celtic vs. Partick Thistle

Sports Mole looks ahead to Wednesday's Scottish Premiership clash between Celtic and Partick Thistle.

Celtic head into Wednesday's meeting with Partick Thistle full of confidence after putting four goals past Hearts in the Scottish Cup.

On Sunday, Ronny Deila's side capitalised on being gifted the numerical advantage in the early stages of the game by cruising to a 4-0 victory which keeps their hopes of securing the treble alive.

In pursuit of the treble, Celtic have already brushed Partick Thistle aside once this season with a 6-0 triumph in late October.

John Guidetti played his part by netting a hat-trick in that victory, and he'll be eager to continue his impressive form on Wednesday as Celtic look to pull clear of Inverness Caledonian Thistle at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Deila is unlikely to make big changes to his side, but there could be a recall to the starting lineup for Kris Commons at Celtic Park.

Partick were successful in the Scottish Cup on the weekend too, as Ryan Stevenson scored twice in a 2-0 win over Hamilton Academical.

Alan Archibald's side head into the game seven points clear of the bottom of the table, and the visitors will know that a surprise positive result would be a big boost heading into the hectic Christmas schedule.
