Chelsea are reportedly tracking the £42m-rated Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, with the Blues looking to rebuild their squad over the summer.
Frank Lampard's side have already completed the signing of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and could now move for the French playmaker.
According to Football.London, Chelsea will have to fight Juventus for Aouar's signature, although the West London club are said to have already been in touch about a deal.
The report adds that Chelsea want to force through a deal as soon as possible, in a similar way that they secured Ziyech so early.
The club had their transfer ban reduced and were able to make signings during the January window, but opted to only make Mateo Kovacic's loan from Real Madrid permanent.
Aouar has scored three goals and provided four assists in 23 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
