Chelsea are reportedly planning to make a £70m move for Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell when their transfer ban ends.
Frank Lampard's side could be free to sign new players as early as January if their appeal is successful, but if not a potential deal for the England international will have to wait until next summer's transfer window.
The Sun reports that the former Derby County boss sees Chilwell as a strong option for the club at left-back, with Marcos Alonso currently considering his future at Stamford Bridge.
The 22-year-old, who made 36 appearances for the Foxes last season, is now set to be Lampard's top target when he is able to make permanent additions to his squad.
Formerly a target of Manchester City, Chilwell has also been linked with Arsenal, Barcelona and Real Madrid in the past.
