Rennes have reportedly told Chelsea that it will take a bid of at least £30m to prise Edouard Mendy away from the club this summer.
Chelsea have identified the Senegal goalkeeper as a possible replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga, who ended last season with the worst save percentage in the Premier League.
Kepa is expected to stay at the club regardless of whether Chelsea sign a new keeper, but Frank Lampard is still eager to bring in someone to challenge the Spaniard for the gloves.
The Blues are understood to have seen two offers rejected for Mendy already, and The Telegraph reports that they have now been told that Rennes want a £30m approach.
Chelsea have already spent more than any other Premier League club this summer, bringing in Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr.
The most expensive of those deals - the club-record signing of Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen - is expected to go through in the coming days, meaning that a move for Mendy could take them close to the £250m mark this summer.
The 28-year-old shot-stopper has kept 13 clean sheets in 34 appearances for Rennes since joining the Ligue 1 outfit last year.
