Juventus have reportedly rejected a bid from Chelsea for Matthijs de Ligt.
The 22-year-old has two years remaining on his Juventus contract, but he has been linked with a move away from Turin, with the defender reportedly expressing a desire to play in the Premier League next season.
Chelsea have been leading the race for De Ligt as they look to strengthen their backline following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
According to the Daily Mail, Juventus turned down a player-plus-cash bid that was put forward by the Premier League club.
The Blues reportedly submitted an offer in the region of £40m, plus the option of either Timo Werner or Christian Pulisic.
Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri was supposedly not keen on either of the two players offered, while the Serie A club are also believed to be reluctant to sell De Ligt this summer.
The Netherlands international has appeared on 117 occasions for the club, chipping in with 13 goals.
