Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has reportedly not given up hope of signing Alex Sandro from Juventus after missing out on the versatile defender during the summer.
The Blues are understood to have had a couple of separate approaches knocked back for the 26-year-old, who remained in place at the Allianz Stadium come the end of the window.
At the time it was suggested that Chelsea were willing to pay a world-record fee for a defender to land their top defensive target, but Juve were holding out for more than £60m, which still remains the case.
Despite bringing in Davide Zappacosta on deadline day, TransferMarketWeb claims that Conte retains an interest in the Brazil international and he could test his former side's resolve in January with a fresh offer.
Conte is said to be after another wing-back so that he can rotate regulars Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses, as Chelsea compete for silverware in four competitions.
