Crystal Palace 'to offload Christian Benteke this summer'

Crystal Palace are reportedly planning to sell misfiring striker Christian Benteke at the end of the season.

Eagles manager Roy Hodgson has lost faith in the misfiring forward and is ready to take a hit on the £32m they paid Liverpool for him, according to the Daily Mail.

Benteke has scored just twice this season and is currently adding around £120,000 per week to the wage bill at Selhurst Park.

The 27-year-old was dropped to the bench for the weekend's 3-2 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion, with Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend chosen to lead the line.

Earlier this year, Benteke was linked with a move to the Chinese Super League but it is unclear whether there is still interest in him from the Far East.
