Glenn Hoddle says that he would turn down an offer to manage the England Under-21 team.

Glenn Hoddle has revealed that he would reject the chance to become the manager of the England Under-21 side.

Current manager Stuart Pearce is believed to be under review from the Football Association following the Young Lions' early exit from the European Championships in Israel.

Following the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Danny Welbeck, Phil Jones and Jack Rodwell making themselves unavailable for the tournament, Hoddle has insisted that he would not take on the job unless things changed.

"It wouldn't [interest me] unless they changed the rules," Hoddle told talkSPORT. "Why would anyone be interested when you are taking your weapon away, when your better players aren't going to be there with you? It's like a boxer going into the ring with one arm tied behind his back."

The foursome did not compete in the tournament due to their participation in the England senior team's friendly against Brazil.
