England boss Gareth Southgate will reportedly start Jamie Vardy against Italy on Tuesday night, despite the striker failing to touch the ball in the 1-0 win over the Netherlands.
The Leicester City ace made little impact on the game at the Amsterdam ArenA during his 22 minutes on the field after being brought on to replace Marcus Rashford.
Despite his struggles in Amsterdam, The Telegraph reports that Vardy is to be used from the off in England's next outing, which comes at Wembley Stadium in three days' time.
Southgate is keen to look at potential replacement options for injured striker Harry Kane, and will therefore turn to the 31-year-old after experimenting with Rashford and Raheem Sterling up top on Friday night.
Vardy has 14 Premier League goals this season, placing him behind only Sterling, Sergio Aguero, Kane and Mohamed Salah in the scoring charts.
