Ben Foster hits out at Adrian Durham

Ben Foster hits out at criticism made towards the England players by broadcaster Adrian Durham.

West Bromwich Albion and England goalkeeper Ben Foster has criticised radio presenter and journalist Adrian Durham.

Although not confirmed by the 31-year-old keeper, it is believed that Foster took to Twitter in response to Durham's words in his Daily Mail column in which he criticised the England squad for heading straight off on holiday after their World Cup exit.

In his piece, Durham wrote: "Hope you've all been enjoying the family holiday snaps and selfies posted all over the internet by some of the England players. Of course, everyone is entitled to a holiday, but if those players had done their jobs better against Italy and Uruguay they would still be at the World Cup, and still be with Roy Hodgson and his staff.

"So here's what I can't quite get my head around: the England players and management would all love to still be in Brazil playing a part in this fantastic tournament. They arrived in South America ready to stay until the middle of July, hoping they would be taking part in that incredible, awesome occasion this coming Sunday – the World Cup final.

"So after going out just two games into the tournament, before a sizeable number of Three Lions fans had even arrived in Brazil, and finishing bottom of their group with just one point, how come the players disappeared? Was that the deal? Did the FA say to the squad: 'If you're rubbish you can go off on holiday early'?"

It prompted Foster to tweet:
