Roberto Martinez "impressed" with Romelu Lukaku's ability

Roberto Martinez says that he has been "very impressed" with on-loan striker Romelu Lukaku following his deadline-day switch from Chelsea.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is hoping for a "perfect marriage" between loan signing Romelu Lukaku and the Merseyside outfit.

The Belgium international moved to Goodison Park on transfer deadline day from Chelsea, but has yet to feature in the team due to his ineligibility to face the Blues last weekend in Everton's 1-0 win at Goodison Park.

"I have been very impressed with Romelu Lukaku," the Daily Mail quotes Martinez as saying. "We have seen him develop into a top striker. He had potential at Anderlecht and now you can see he is a really mature boy.

"I am delighted to be able to work with him. He gives you something different. What we are looking at is an outstanding footballer and we are hoping that it will be a perfect marriage."

Lukaku is expected to play against West Ham United this weekend.
