Roberto Martinez pleased with second-half showing

Everton manager Roberto Martinez says that his team improved dramatically after the break on their way to beating West Ham United 3-2 at Upton Park.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has praised his team for the way that they fought back in the second half against West Ham United.

The Toffees, who twice trailed at Upton Park, made it back-to-back wins thanks to a brace of free kicks from Leighton Baines and a Romelu Lukaku winner on his debut.

"Give credit to West Ham, they wanted to stop us from playing and we had to find a way to change that," Martinez told reporters.

"It was a slow performance from us in the first half and we weren't as sharp as last weekend.

"We were refreshed in the second half and had more composure and looked a more threatening team."

The victory was the Merseysiders' first on the road in 11 games.
